Welcome to the home of pulpy fiction productions corner for customs.

So here it is, I'm a graphic artist and illustrator located in Canada. I love animation, comics, sci fi, fantasy, movies, and music. On my spare time I customize action figures for the fun of it. My customs mainly focus on comic and movie characters, but that's not all I do. I'm an articulation nut, so the more the better, one of the reasons I love working with Marvel Legends and DC Universe figures.

On this blog, I'll be giving the lowdown of what I'm working on, what I'm thinking about doing, and how I plan to take over the world (all super heroes and would be vigilantes, please disregard this site).

G.I. Joe Classified Croc Master and Fiona Upgrades

A quick repaint of the crocodile, lots of washes and dry brushing. I redid the eyes in shiny metallic and iridescent coliurs.  Then I layered the fleshy mouth areas with pinks. With washes of reds and light purples. I dirtied up the teeth a bit. Then the teeth, the eyes, and fleshy mouth bits got a thick glossy finish, I let her t pool and dry in the bottom of the mouth a bit each layer that really help with the wet/saliva look.

For Croc Master, I dry brushed to get some definition of the great sculpt in his mask and pants. I did some highlights and dark washes on his skin. Then I worked on dry brush layers and washes on his Croc skin items like his chest harness, gauntlet, boots, as well as his gun holster and knife sheath.

I got rid of the plastic chain on his Croc leash, and put on a longer metal chain, and I made his whip with a wire braided into it for possibility. I'm not sure if this is the final version of this whip, I might take a second whack at it, if I have time, or get angry at it.

Sorry for the quick photos, I hope to get better ones when I have time.

G.I. Joe classified Storm Shadow mods

Just trying to make a retro version one style Storm Shadow here.  I can't seem to get my hands on a retail or decently priced version.  I used articulated icons arms, armbands, and chest strap.
First I dremilled out the articulated icons wrist peg sockets to fit Marvel legends hands.  I have extras in fists chops and other open hand fighting poses (a couple work great for arrow shooting hands)/
I then heated and popped the arms out replaces the straps, and fixed the articulated icons arms in the butterfly joint with a little hot glue in the socket to tighten it to a perfect fit.  I put a light layer of vasaline on the arm pegs to keep them from sticking to the socket.  The new arms move great and hold poses perfectly.  I may have lost the hidden peg joints, but i feel it's worth it to get this look I wanted.  The arm wraps with the gauntlets and bare hands wasn't cutting it for me, and didn't look right.

I also remade the backpack/gear kit to match the original version with his arrows, and removable nunchucks, clip on bow, his swords in their sheaths, as well as 2 extra knives.

Just a few quick pics for now to get them up. Hopefully I'll get some better ones when I get a chance.
